At the Pennsylvania Press Club luncheon on Monday, U.S. Senate candidate Bob Casey accused U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) as a rubber stamp for President Bush on issues including the privatization of Social Security and the Iraq war. Casey said he favors an increase in the $5.15-an-hour federal minimum wage and supports the Senate legislation to make health insurance more accessible to small businesses. Santorum campaign spokeswoman Virginia Davis dismissed Casey's speech as "empty rhetoric that gives Pennsylvanians no indication of what kind of senator he'd be."
"He talks about a new direction. His new directions are the same tired talking points of the national Democratic Party."
